Went to bed fearing the worst. Woke up to optimism....which turned to excite. There was no rain today! The skies were blue! The wedding would STILL be at the outdoor location that we had worked so hard on ALL summer long. God is so good.

We couldn't have asked for a more perfect day. The deluge of the night before was evidenced in the gurgling of the natural spring falling over the rocks and meeting the swollen stream below. That stream seperated the mushy ground where the bridal party stood from the dry ground where the chairs holding guests sat. Because of that fact, us bridesmaids all wore SNEAKERS with our dress =o) (never fear, we DID snap a shot of that). But that minor detail did not take away from the wonder of the day.

Of all the weddings I've been to, this ranks above the top for the most beautiful, God-honoring, worshipful, showing of love between two people that I have ever seen. From her father walking her down the stone steps (that we assembled this summer), to the footwashing b/w the bride and groom, to the joyous jaunt under a shower of fabricated fall leaves to the awaiting horse drawn carriage...it all was p-e-r-f-e-c-t.

And that's just what I hope their honeymoon....wandering through New England and snapping photos of the fall color display is. Perfect. They are the perfect complements to each other. The following lyrics to "The Other Side of Me" sum it up pretty well...

If you were the ocean I would be the shore.

And one without the other would be needing something more.

We are the shadow and the light.

Now you are the other side of me.
