Changes Come

They lie waiting around every corner. Sometimes we see them….possibilities, looming far off in the hazy distance. Sometimes they meet us right smack in the middle of our path, a place we can’t go around them and continue on in the sameness of everyday life. Some are good. Some are bad. For a follower of Christ, we can rest assured, NONE are a surprise to the One who has plans for us, not to harm us, but to see us prosper…to give us a hope and a future.

Why then are we usually so scared of change? Is it the unknown, the lack of control we seem to have, the feeling that we are spinning around in a new direction that could have us landing to find we are facing a completely foreign horizon. What part of change do you grapple with the hardest?

Then there are those few circumstances that change seems to just slip in- major or minor- where we see ourselves strangely unflustered by it. Times when realistically we should be in panic or worry or something other than fine. At these times we seem to just rest. Relax. Trust? What makes the difference between this peaceful response and the one that feels so constricting? I think it’s how much we, as sons and daughters of the Most High, involve our Father in the process. Have we acknowledged Him along the way, sought His opinion in the matter(s), rested in His blessed assurance that all things work for good to those who love Him?

What is YOUR response to change?

Oh what timing you have...this sounds so ironically familiar.

My response? Well mixed but in my particular case, which you are aware of, I'd say it's the latter of which you speak.
