The Kind of Girl

These are some words I stumbled accross, penned by Melissa that I found struck a chord. Read. Contemplate. Enact.

She's the kind of girl who'd stay up all night, just because you said you'd call.

She's the kind of girl who'd unlock your door as you walked around the car.

And she'd stand watch by the window until you safely drove away.

She's the kind of girl who doesn't need the world, she only wants for you to stay.

She's the kind of girl with a fire in her eyes, won't even go out when she cries.

She's the kind of girl who doesn't realize how her passion makes her blind.

Cause she's dreamed of the moment when you would enter and whisk her away,

But she's the kind of girl who doesn't need a dream world, she'd rather have you when she wakes.

But she knows, you need your freedom
and she knows only a fool would try
to take what only love can give away,
so she'll wait the day.

But you're the kind of boy who'd sit quiet by her side, memorize her every sound.

You're the kind of boy who gets chills from her touch, though she's nowhere to be found.

But you would give her her distance rather than risk it and push her away,

She's the kind of girl you could make your world, Oh, if only she would say.

And you know she needs her freedom
and you know only a fool would try
to take what only love can give away,
so you'll wait the day.

And they both would find their freedom
If only one would simply take the chance and say
"I just can't wait another day."
These fools will wait their lives away.
